Registration FAQ

Questions about signing up.

What does registration cost?
BSA charges an annual national membership fee (typically $85–$100/year). Pack 1 may also collect local dues for activities, supplies, and events. Contact us for current pack dues — we keep costs as low as possible.
When can my son start?
As soon as he's registered! Register online, then come to the next den meeting or pack event. We welcome new Scouts at any point in the year.
Do we need a uniform right away?
No. Come to the first meeting in regular clothes. Once you decide to join, we'll tell you exactly what uniform items are needed and where to get them affordably.
My son is in 5th grade — is it too late?
Not at all. 5th graders join the Arrow of Light den — the capstone Cub Scout rank. They work toward bridging into Scouts BSA, which is a great next step.
Can moms participate too?
Absolutely. Pack 1 is dad-led, meaning dads run the dens alongside their sons — but all parents are welcome at meetings and events. Many moms are active volunteers.
What if I have more questions?
Just reach out! Email us at hello@pack1hb.org, message on Facebook, or use the contact form on this site. We respond within 24 hours.
Ready?

Five minutes to a lifetime of memories.

Register online, then come to the next meeting. We'll handle the rest.
